AC Milan has brought a halt to the transfer of Nigeria U20 midfielder Victor Eletu to third division side Pescara, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
The 21 year old has spent seven years with the Italian giants and was said to have agreed a permanent exit from the team to Pescara, who are running an ambitious project to gain promotion to the second division.
Milan pulled the plug on the move and he will now take part in the team’s pre season plans, although no confirmation if he will be part of the first team plans of head coach Rueben Amorim who took over in the summer.
Sources say an exit before the close of the ongoing summer transfer window can’t be ruled out , but for now no decision has been reached on his next career step.
Eletu joined the team at the age of 14 and progressed through the youth ranks, where he ended up making the squad of Nigeria to the U20 World Cup three years ago.
