  • Bukky Wright, a veteran Nollywood actress, stepped away from the Nigerian movie industry.
  • Her decision was primarily influenced by her children’s needs.
  • She prioritized motherhood over her acting career during this time.

Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has opened up about the personal decision that prompted her to step away from the Nigerian movie industry and relocate abroad, revealing that her children were the major reason behind the move.

The actress explained that there came a point when her children needed her presence more than her career did, prompting her to put acting on hold and focus on motherhood.

According to Wright, she made the difficult choice because her children were living abroad and she wanted to be physically present during an important stage of their lives.

“I left this country many years ago because of my children, and I will do it over and over again if I had to,” the actress said.

Wright also apologised to her fans for leaving the industry without properly explaining her reasons at the time.

She described the decision as part of her responsibility as a mother, noting that family had to take priority over her successful acting career.
