Are you relaxed, natural, texturized or texlaxed?
Natural
What’s your story, how did you get to where you are?
I have been natural since 99 after my stepmother permed my hair and I had a bad experienced. I went natural because I loved my curly hair.
My hair has always been long and I was happy, living in California keeping my hair straightened was a breeze, I had a great stylist that knew how to take care of curly natural hair.
I moved to South Carolina in 08 and the climate was not conducive to my hair, I was very frustrated because truthfully I never really had to take care of my own hair, my stylist did that.
I shaved my hair all off in 2010 and in 2011 of december I wanted to start taking care of my hair properly. I wanted my long hair back because my hair was at my chin length at that time and slowly growing back with no real regime.
What is your regimen at the moment?
If I have learned anything I know moisture is essential to healthy hair, my hair never really had a problem holding moisture.
Every Saturday I will section my hair in several sections, detangle and braid each section and then I shampoo each section with a sulfate free all natural shampoo. I then put a generous amount of soy and oatmeal conditioner on my hair put a plastic cap on and go about my errands for a couple hours.
I do medium size braids on my hair and wear a braid out for a couple days and the rest of the week it is a low or a high bun that is not pulled too tight. I am current expecting to do light yoga 4-5 days a week so I will add a co-wash on Wednesdays too.
And your favourite product?
Carols Daughter, the products are so good for my hair and my hair really responds….
