Global music star Beyoncé has marked her 45th birthday with the release of a remastered version of her acclaimed second studio album, B’DAY.
The singer celebrates her birthday on Friday, September 4, 2026, with fans getting newly remastered versions of songs and visuals from the 2006 project.
B’DAY was an important album in Beyoncé’s early solo career and featured hit songs including “Green Light,” “Get Me Bodied” and “Upgrade U.”
The album explored themes of confidence, liberation, audacity and compatibility while showcasing Beyoncé’s blend of R&B, pop and hip-hop.
For the anniversary release, Beyoncé returned to the original recordings and worked on remastering the songs for the new edition.
The accompanying music videos, which were originally filmed on 35mm, have also been remastered, re-coloured and finished in 4K.
The updated visual collection includes “Déjà Vu,” featuring her husband JAY-Z and directed by Sophie Muller.
Reflecting on the making of B’DAY, Beyoncé said, “I wanted the album to be big, percussive, hard, up-tempo, and energized, and it was important to me that we used live instrumentation.”
She also explained that she wanted to preserve the foundations of R&B while embracing the growing influence of hip-hop at the time.
“The goal was to blend those two worlds through the art of sampling,” she added.
