Canadian striker Jonathan David is on the verge of joining Atlético Madrid on loan from Juventus, with a verbal agreement now in place between the clubs.
The deal is structured as an initial loan with a buy option clause. Atlético Madrid will cover more than 50 per cent of the player’s salary during his time at the club.
David, who joined Juventus from Lille, has been seeking more consistent playing time. A move to the Spanish capital offers him the chance to work under Diego Simeone and compete in La Liga and European competitions.
The agreement marks another significant addition for Atlético as they continue to reshape their attacking options.
