Newly capped Nigeria international goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo was imposing between the sticks for his new side Charlton in their shock 2-1 win away to West Ham in the English Championship, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Okonkwo joined the team 48 hours ago and as a show of trust he was immediately handed a start and he didn’t looked out of place.
His team ran to a 2-0 lead and the Nigeria international who is on loan from Wrexham ensured that the score remained that way with four big saves.
West Ham were awarded a penalty in the last kick of the game, but it came off the woodwork earning Charlton a big away win with Okonkwo having a debut to remember.
Capped by Nigeria during the summer, the 24 year old is among the players who will be in the team for the upcoming AFCON Qualifiers games in September.
