Brighton reject £50m Liverpool bid for Minteh

Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly rejected a £50 million bid from Liverpool for Gambia international Yankuba Minteh as the Premier League champions look to strengthen their attacking options.

The 22-year-old winger, who joined Brighton from Newcastle United for £30 million in 2024, has emerged as a target for Liverpool as they seek to bolster their wide options following the departure of Mohamed Salah.

Minteh primarily operates on the right wing and has scored 10 goals and provided nine assists in 73 appearances for Brighton.

The Gambian is currently recovering from a leg injury sustained during a friendly against Roma earlier this month.

Liverpool explore attacking options

Liverpool are expected to continue exploring the market for attacking reinforcements before the transfer window closes.

The Reds have already signed Victor Munoz from Osasuna for £34 million this summer, with the versatile forward capable of operating both on the wing and through the middle.

However, Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola remains a priority target for Liverpool.

The France international is reportedly open to a move to Anfield, but negotiations remain complicated by the significant gap between the two clubs’ valuations.

PSG are believed to be demanding around £145 million for the 23-year-old, while Liverpool would prefer to agree a deal closer to £100 million.

Liverpool’s interest in Minteh could, therefore, provide an alternative as the club…
