Four Nigeria Premier Football League clubs preparing for continental engagements will participate in a six-team pre-season tournament scheduled for August 18 to 23 in Jos.
The competition will feature Rangers International, Rivers United, Shooting Stars and El Kanemi Warriors alongside Plateau United and Mighty Jets, who will participate as wildcard teams.
The tournament will take place at the New Jos Stadium as the clubs step up preparations for the 2026/27 season and their respective continental campaigns.
The competition is expected to give participating teams an opportunity to assess their squads, improve match fitness, and test new signings ahead of the start of the season.
Plateau United and Mighty Jets will add a local dimension to the tournament, with the Jos-based clubs set to compete against some of the country’s leading football teams.
The pre-season tournament comes ahead of the scheduled kickoff of the 2026/27 NPFL season between August 28 and 30.
