Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi is set to leave Nottingham Forest for newly promoted Premier League side Coventry City, Soccernet.ng reports.
Awoniyi joined the Tricky Trees from Union Berlin in 2022 and proved to be a key player during his first two seasons, helping the club avoid relegation.
However, over the last two seasons, he has struggled to secure a regular starting spot, largely due to consistent injury problems and strong form from fellow strikers Chris Wood and Igor Jesus.
Entering the summer, the 29-year-old striker had just one year remaining on his contract, making a departure from the City Ground highly likely.
Despite this, speculation regarding his future remained relatively quiet until yesterday, when news broke that he was heading to Coventry City.
Reports suggest the Super Eagles forward will join the Sky Blues in a deal worth €20 million. This is a significant deal for the newly promoted club, as Awoniyi is proven in the Premier League and can make a real impact if he stays fit.

For Nottingham Forest, Awoniyi is viewed as a cult hero, making his exit a major moment, particularly following his memorable exploits during his first two years at the club.
