Crochet braids made a major appearance in the natural hair community over the past summer. It seemed like everybody decided to hop on the crochet braid bandwagon. Can you blame them? Crochet braids are an excellent and versatile protective style for natural hair. Now that the fall is in, some ladies may still be in the market for crochet braids. Here are six quick and easy styles for your crochet braids.
1. Sidehawk
What You Need: Gel, Edge Control, Bobby Pins*, Toothbrush
The sidehawk is super simple. All you have to do is apply gel to one side of your hair, add a little edge control on top and brush your edges with the toothbrush (so that they can be laid!). After brushing your hair back secure it with a bobby pin.
2. Frohawk
What You Need: Gel, Bobby Pins*, Brush
The Frohawk is basically the sidehawk if you pin up both sides! After applying gel and brushing your hair up, use a few bobby pins to secure the style. You’re going to end up with a few hairs laying down in front and a full ‘faux hawk’ style.
3. Peacock
What You Need: Gel, Toothbrush, Scrunchie
The Peacock is pretty much a half up/half down style. You’re going to gather a section of hair in the front (the crown of your head). Use a brush or a toothbrush to brush your hair back. Afterwards, gather the section into a bun and wrap it around itself so that the ends of the bun are sticking out in the back. Marley hair has awesome texture, so the bun in the front will have an unique look.
4. Puff
What You Need: Headband* or Scarf
