Iheanacho marks Bursaspor debut with goal, assist

Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho made an impressive start to life at Bursaspor after scoring and providing an assist in his debut for the Turkish club.

Bursaspor opened their new campaign with a 2-0 away victory over Bodrum FK on Sunday, with Iheanacho directly involved in both goals.

The forward opened the scoring before setting up his team’s second goal, earning him the Man of the Match award for his performance.

Speaking to beIN SPORTS after the game, Iheanacho expressed his delight with the result and his personal contribution.

“I’m very happy,” he said.

“Early matches are tough. I’m delighted we won. I’m also thrilled to have scored a goal and provided an assist.

“I hope I can be successful here and win some trophies.”

Iheanacho joined Bursaspor on a free transfer last month after ending his spell with Scottish Premiership side Celtic.

The Nigerian striker will now hope to build on his impressive debut as Bursaspor continue their campaign.
