My name is Kahdija (K_TheStylist) IG. I have been a professional cosmetologist for 15 years. I currently work at M’Bellish Hair Studios in Chicago IL. I am a life time learner in this business and I am always looking for new ways to grow my business and help people become the beautiful version of themselves inside and out.
How long have you worked as a licensed cosmetologist (or equivalent in your country) and where did you study?
15 years I studied at Pivot Point International
What is your specialty, relaxed, natural hair, locs or anything special?
I specialize in short cuts relaxed or natural.
What in your opinion is the most rewarding thing about working as a hair stylist?
Adding to the beauty a client already has and watching them confidently walking out the salon ready to take on the world.
When you meet that customer that has not had a great experience with a previous stylist, how do you make them comfortable while in your chair?
I start with a consultation to see where we she is and I make a road map to where she wants to go. Wether that can happen in 1 visit or 4 I plan accordingly and I am always honest so the client won’t feel disappointed.
If you could change one thing about the cosmetology industry what would that be?
Would make a law for kitchen stylist to make it harder for them to undercut licensed professionals.
Where do you see yourself a few years from now, what are your goals as a stylist?
I want to become a traveling stylist ( short term goal) and long term goal opening a cosmetology school.
